Basics-
Name: Alva Pennington
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Appearance-
Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Brown
Height: 5'10
Cloths: A standard Captain's uniform in perfect order, and her hair in an effective yet somewhat styled bun. Off duty she prefers white cotton shirts with lace or frills and often a vest, fitting pants, knee high boots and her hair down or in a ponytail, passing more for a pirate or explorer from 18th century earth.
Other Information-
Background:
From a small town in central California on earth, she was raised mostly by her mother. After excelling in school she managed to get into Starfleet Academy in San Francisco at a fairly young age, where she focused on Science and Medical. Here she befriended future crew member Daniel Steinbock. Eventually she was forced to concentrate completely on her medical education by the sheer amount of work she had to do.
After graduating the Academy she served for some time as a Doctor on board the Oberth class starship the U.S.S. Odyssey. It was during this time that she first met Abigail Rush on a mission in the Rigel system. Rush's appearance was, and still is, a mystery to the Federation, and as a Doctor she spent a lot of time working with her, and thus they developed a close friendship.
After rising in the ranks and proving herself again and again, she left the Odyssey to take command of her own ship, the U.S.S. Aotearoa.
Personality:
She has a creative nature, a great love of history and the arts, and idealizes other cultures and past times. A charismatic leader, she instills loyalty in her friends and crew members. Though less strict than other Captain's, she takes every measure to make sure that the job gets done. She can be hard on her crew, but is most hard on herself. With optimism, a sense of humor, and a possible wild side beneath her calm control, she could easily be the Captain of an vessel aimed at exploring 18th century earth on the high seas instead of a Starship. Her hobbies include reading, writing, fencing, art, history, and living out various adventure on the holodeck.
