Stardate 2367.5.16. The Harrogate is in currently en route to the prospective Federation planet, Mechoma, where we are to deliver a team of anthropologists to study the Mechoman culture. The anthropologists have been on board for a month learning all that they can about Mechoman society from our Machoman crew member, and the only Mechoman in Starfleet, Stephen Joseph.
Lieutenant Verity, Ensign Joseph and Lieutenant Commander Davis sat around a small table in Ten-Forward. They found themselves, as usual for this month, surrounded by the team of anthropologists studying a very nervous looking Ensign Joseph.
"'Ensign Stevey, why is it that you look troubled? Your expression suggests that you are nervous or frightened by the presense of the scientists studying you, yet you have known them for an entire month. Why is that?" Verity tilted her head inquisitively.

. Stevey moved a little closer to John, glancing around at the anthropologists. He was excited to go back home for a bit, but this was severely uncomfortable. "I'm not comfortable with so many eyes on me..."
. John patted Stevey on the back. "It's fine. Just pretend they aren't even there. It's only a short time and they'll be gone now."
. Stevey reluctantly looked away, shaking ever so slightly, and took a sip of his iced tea. John had introduced him to iced tea and Stevey decided it was now his favourite drink.

"Ensign Stevey your statement is impossible. Their eyes are in their heads, not on you. For that to occur-" Verity stopped at a look from John and sipped her iced-tea. She didn't need such substance to function, but she had observed John drinking it everyday, and therefore deduced that consuming a glass of iced-tea everyday would make her more human and thus began the habit.

. John laughed. "Verity, that would be a figure of speech. People use them all the time... Like being on top of the world! You can't really be on top of the world, but it's a way to describe extreme satisfaction."
. Stevey kept glancing at the scientists. Was it really necessary to hang around that long? He shifted uneasily. "I will be glad when this is over."

"Oh come on buddy! Just get on out there! You'll never going to make any new friends at this rate!"
Operations manager/Lieutenant Commander Daniel Steinbock laughed as he pushed the complaintive Ferengi barber out into in Ten-Forward.
"I don't need any friends! I have my customers and my shop! The Rules of Acquisition number twenty one clearly states-"
"Don't give me any of that Rules of Acquisition number twenty one clearly states me Zorn!"
The happy carefree man cut off the barber shop owner.
"Here take this! This should help break the ice hehe"
The Commander handed over the grumpy space troll a plate with a large nice looking cake on it.
"Ah! I best be off to Rush's post before the Captain knee hauls me over in the act. Goodluck Zorny~"
The temporary Tactical officer/ security chief First mate sang sung as he waved his way back to work.
Hmph partner of mine indeed....
Zorn mumbled his way down Ten-Forward as he held the plate of cake as far away from himself as possible. He made a ugly face as looked away from the cake.
I bet it smells of Hewmon.
The poor unfortunate Ferengi barber reached John and company's table.
"Excuse me. Would it be alright if I joined your table?"
Zorn mustered the best sharp pointy toothed smile and polite gesture he could pull of. He could only plot how he would get back Steinbock for all of this as he held the gift of cake in his grubby hands.
