Ginko adjusted the shoulder straps of his backpack/box as he walked. He and Koro had entered a town and it looked as though they'd reached a market. People rushed by them all around, bundled in layers of kimonos and scarves. "Looks like this is our chance to find you some decent clothes."
*Kourou looked at his bloody clothes and quickly retreated his head in disgust.* Kourou: Finally! I can’t stand the mere thought of traveling in these blood soaked garments anymore! TT
"Oh yeah... and those shorts." He looked up at the falling snowflakes with a teasing smile. He walked on.
*Kourou looks as if he has taken a blow to the heart by those words.* Kourou: Oy! Ginko! Whast wrong with my shorts! geh theres not any blood on them is there? *He starts brushing the invisible blood of him. He notices Ginko has already strolled into a store.* Kourou: Hey wait up! *He enters the shop.*Kourou: brrr when did it get so cold of a sudden?
Ginko looked around.
"Irashaimase!" The shop owner bowed deeply and Ginko bowed a little, too busy glancing around the shop. Kinda run down.... His gaze passed over a wedding dress in the corner, strangely newer and fancier than anything else in the shop. He moved on to look for something warm for Koro, but when he glanced in the direction of the wedding dress he thought he saw a woman in it. "Huh?" He looked again, but there was no one there.
*Kourou looks in Ginkos direction.* Kourou: find anything yet ginwow! *He looks at the dress and grins at Ginko.* Kourou: Sorry to disappoint yah. But I’m not wearing that. hmmmm *He looks at the dress and at Ginko wtf face several times.* Kourou: Maybe Tanyu no? * He smiles.*
Ginko blushes a little. "NO! I mean... no, nothing like that...I couldn't afford it anyway."
The shop owner interrupted.
"You're in luck. This particular-"
"I said it wasn't like-"
"-this particular item is on sale."
*Kourou looks at the shopkeeper.* Kourou: On sale? This dress really sticks out. I wonder why you haven’t been able to sell yet gramps?
"Eh heh...well... weddings are somewhat out of season this time of year." He closes his eyes shifely.
Ginko backs away from them, looking at the wedding dress strangely.
Kourou: Ohhhh? * He keeps a eye on the shop keeper.* Kourou to himself: Something’s not right here.. Kourou: Something wrong Ginko? *He keeps his eyes on the shop keeper.*
Ginko doesn't pay Kourou any attention until he calls his name again. "Huh? Oh... I thought I saw..." His brows furrow. "Did you find any shorts?"
Kourou: Ha! I found about ten pairs already! *He makes grins.* Kourou: What with you still gawking all over that dress.
"Heh. Nah, come on buy them and let's get out of here."
Kourou: Oh? You’re really not going to buy that dress? *He sticks out his lip to look disappointed.*
"Why would I?" He shrugged it off. He started scouting for a place to stay silently. Maybe he was just worn out... it really had looked like there was a woman inside. She had looked so much like Tanyu though; maybe his mind was playing tricks on him.
Kourou: Oy! Quit leaving behind you old fart! *He has the shop keep run his stuff through and heads after Ginko.*
Ginko didn't say anything. "There's a place." He went in and asked the inn keep how much it was to stay the night, before quickly walking back out. "Maybe it's cheaper to just camp in the woods..." He sighed. "Let's ask someone if we can stay the night..."
Koourou: Like the shop we were just in. - -III *He points at the beaten down sign.* -silk shop, etc, etc, etc, cheap rooms for low cost- Kourou to himself: what’s in the old geezers but. I was kidding around. *Kourou starts freaking out.* Kourou: Did I go to far?! TT
"No there..." Ginko grumbled. He searched the rest of the town until both their stomach's were growling and their feet were heavy. "Ok, fine!" Ginko shook his head.
Kourou: I hope they provide food if we purchase a room! TT * He kicks his way inside.* Kourou: YO! Pops ! We need a room! And some food! If you have any to provide that is? eh? *He looks at the dress.* Kourou: A woman?
"You!" Ginko goes to grab her shoulder but she vanishes again. "This is so weird..."
"In need of a place to stay?" Ginko jumps. The inn keeper smiles at them both. "You're just in time for dinner."
*Kourou whispers in Ginko ear.* Kourou: A Invisible bride in a wedding dress. What’s next this guy turns out to be some kinda of Ogre? ....Wait *Kourou tenses up. He nearly yells instead of whispering.* Kourou: "You're just in time for dinner." He's going to eat us! Right? And I haven’t even gotten the chance to catch my rainbow! Or marry a girl! TT
Ginko slapped him on the back of the head. "Thank you, your hospitality is most appreciated." BS. Ginko bows and the shop keeper leads them down the dark hallway to... a well lit room with a nice meal laid out and what looked to be the inn keeper's wife and kids.
*Kourou sits down.* Kourou: Th Thank you for the food. *He starts eating but keeps an eye on the shop keep.* Kourou to himself: Gotta keep an eye out on the Ogre guy... *Kourou taste buds explode with happiness.* Kourou: This is really good! *Any ogre thoughts suspicions were wiped clean from Kourous mind.*
"I'm glad you like it."
"I'm sorry there isn't much, we weren't expecting visitors." His wife peeped in.
Kourou: No worries. Nice to meet you miss. heh old man you never told us you had such a hot wife and such fine kids to boot. luckyyyy *Kourou leans his head back.*
The wife giggles and the shop keep grins. "Eat up already, or is your mouth bigger than your stomach?"
"Thank you for this food." Ginko began eating quietly.
*Kourou grumbles while stuffing his face with food.* Kourou to himself: It's not fairrrrrr! Some guys have all the luck! TT *He takes another bite of the delicious food.*
"That wedding dress..."
The store guy looked at him.
"What about it?"
"What's the reason it hasn't sold?"
The woman hurried the children off to bed.
"...the woman that was meant to wear that dress... vanished on the day of her wedding day. People took it as a bad omen, and no one's bought it yet. It keeps passing from shop to shop, waiting to be sold."
"'Bad omen' and you just tried to sell it to me?"
"Hehe sorry, gotta make aliving."
Kourou: a woman in a dress vanishing on her wedding night. Like that woman I saw? *Kourou sets down the empty bowl of food.*
"Woman you...saw?" The shop owner frowned, obviously not knowing what he was talking about. Ginko listened carefully.
*Kourou nods.* Kourou: Maybe it’s the same woman from your story. *Kourou nods as if to agree with what hes saying.* Kourou: It might even be mushi and not a curse at all right Ginko? You did notice her before me right?
"Yes, it is possible."
"A mushi?"
"I ran into a case before, where a woman who touched a string mushi became part of it, and eventually she couldn't be seen by people who couldn't see mushi. If this dress is somehow infected by a similar mushi this could be a similar case."
"Are you saying I'm keeping a woman in my shop?!"
"That brings up the point...why would she stay in that shop? And why can we see the dress?"
Kourou: hmmm a mushi dress? *He spills some tea on his hand.* Kourou: OUCH!
Ginko sighs,
at least he's free of the Aichi now.
"Yes. It wouldn't be the first article of clothings I'd seen infected by a mushi."
"What are these mushi you keep talking about."
"Mushi are..neither animals nor plants. They are in essence, life itself. You can't see them but they can still affect you. As long as they're left alone they're harmless."
Kourou: So we just have to find out why the mushi dress is making the woman stay. *He wipes remaining tea off the table.* Kourou: Hm Maybe this mushi just likes to stay in one place. All that moving around from shop to shop. It's clinging to the poor gal like she’s some kinda rock bed at the shore or something.
Kourou: But if we try to force the mushi off her she might end up getting hurt.. *Kourou starts grumbling.*
"Is the man who was going to marry her still somewhere in this village?"
"I don't know, I'm probably the fourth shop owner to carry the dress."
"oi..."
Kourou: Ok now we have to get her out of that dress! *Kourou sits back on the floor to calm himself down.* Kourou: It's bad enough she missed her wedding but she might not even be able to find her groom, her family, or even any of her friends. Someone shouldn’t have to miss out on their life all because of a dress! *Kourou fliches.* Kourou: Heh like when I ran away from my home..
"Heh, sorry, I'm helping keep you from going home Kourou."
Kourou: More of the rainbows fault if you ask me. *Kourou goes back to pouting.*
"We'll find it!"
The poor shop guy looks really confused.
*Kourou brightens up.* Kourou: Heh that’s right! Kourou to himself: Hopefully. I don't won’t to catch the rainbow to come back with a world full of hags! TT *Kourou coughs.* Kourou: Moving on!
Ginko laughed, accidentally putting out his cigarette.
Kourou: Geh! Kourou: I know the old farts smarter then most folk. But he can’t read minds right? ...that or am I that easy to read!? TT *Kourou coughs once more.* Kourou: Maybe we can try to talk the dress at peacefully XD
"Sounds worth a try... in the morning. I'm tired."
They get shown to their room and futons are laid out for them. "Ahh a real bed."
Kourou: Nice. *Kourou lays down and immedially falls asleep. He starts talking in his sleep about catching that rainbow and what not.*
(look kourou a rainbow!! where?! made you look!)
